It's a bit pricy, but it's been worth every cent to me. 3.2megapixels and a great lense delivery sharp vivid pictures every time in automatic mode and usually in manual mode (I'm still working on the manual features). :) In addition to great pics, it can take 3 minute movies in 640x480 at 20fps with sound ... a great feature. It's small enough to shove in your pocket anytime and has a built-in lense protector too. The best feature though was the extended battery I bought for $40 ... I can shoot 140+ pictures with the LCD on with just a single charge. It's great. My brother's Sony eats batteries, so I was very impressed with this. Oh, it's also got Canon's new 9-location autofocus system. In the time it takes other cameras to focus once, the S230 focuses on 9 different spots in a given scene and selects the best settings for that picture. It's on/off cycle are very fast too. The only downsides are the tendency to be effected by camera shake and a slightly weak flash ... but for such a tiny camera, I'm not complaining. Oh, the zoom is only 2x optical and it's slow - that I will complain about. :)
